Photo. This image is an LRGB image with Ha highlights. Image processed at 8288x5644
resolution (2x drizzle stacks). Full Field image size is approximately 6080x4151.
North is to the right in
this image. This image shows a bright blue threesome of reflection nebulae
(vdB131, vdB132, LBN281) in a field of Hydrogen ( DWB105, DWB113,
DWB114). The distance of these structures ranges from 5,500 to 7,000 light
years. The lower portion of this image (and generally below the Reflection
Triplet) features some dark nebulae. Three identifiers are given for these
dark nebulae - DOBASHI 2498, 2504, and 2509 (from left to right).
There
is an interesting bipolar nebula just upper left of vdB131. This is
designated Parsamian 22 (also GN 20.22.7, PP95, and [B77] 22) and is
associated with the young stellar object HBC 694 - a proto star. The
nebula was first identified in 1965 and there have been several
studies since then dedicated to this nebula (or its surrounds)
about its features and characteristics. Its distance is not well known -
one study estimates about 4,000 light years.
These objects, information, and some of the brighter
stars are identified in the annotated
image.
The Horizontal Full FOV is approximately
0.667 degrees. Full size, full field image scale is approximately 0.39 arcsec/pix.
