CLICK ON IMAGE FOR FULL SIZE VIEW Scope: ST80 at f/2.5 Location: Blair Valley - Anza Borrego, CA 10/25/2003 Camera: ToUcam SC3 Exposure: 6 x 150 sec H-Alpha exposure. 12 x 10 sec exposures with IR Block filter. 18 x 10 sec each RGB exposures. Four Frame Mosaic Processing: Captured and stacked in K3CCDTools with HA, IR,,R,G,B saved as FITs. HA, IR,RGB masters were registered in Astroart. Some Lowpass filtering was applied followed by un-sharp mask on the HA and IR frame. HA and IR were combined for Luminance. HA and Red combined for red. These combinations and LRGB combine were done in Photoshop. Luminance Layering was used. Each quarter of the mosaic was color balanced in Photoshop. These four quarters were background smoothed with SGBNR.. The well known "Ear" artifacts typical with webcams were were removed with Loreal. Final mosaic joining and touch up in Photoshop. This image was taken at Blair Valley the night the big fires started in San Diego County. All together, there are 23 exposures including darks, H-Alpha, IR Block and RGB exposures. Post processing is somewhat lengthy and unfortunately, the image doesn't quite measure up to the effort. North is to the right. The bright star in the North (right) is the "Garnet Star" Horizontal FOV is about 164'
