Dumbbell Nebula M27 in Vulpecula

Scope: Starmax 127  f/6 Location: Ramona CA   6/27/2003  Camera: ToUcam SC3

Exposure: 16 x 45  sec IR filter and 16 x 40 sec RGB filters

Processing: Captured aligned and stacked in K3CCDTools  with IR,R,G,B saved as FITs. Luminance was the IR exposure. LRGB masters were registered and combined in Astroart. Some Lowpass filtering was applied followed by un-sharp mask on the Luminance frame. LRGB result was saved as a BMP. Background was smoothed in SGBNR as saved as TIF. The result TIF had minor touch up in Photoshop.

This image was taken in Dos Picos park in Ramona. I took relatively long color exposures in order to try to get the best color for this object. I am pleased with the result, but was unable to get the more accepted Teal color of the central area. Horizontal FOV is 22'
