Blue Snowball Nebula

Scope: C8 f/10 Location: Del Mar CA 9/17/2003 Camera: ToUcam SC3

Exposure: 12 x 40 sec, 12 x 12 sec, 16 x 4 sec Luminance Exposure with IR Block. 12 x 8 sec RGB Exposures with IR Block Filter

Processing: Images were captured and aligned in K3CCDTools and saved as FITS. Luminance and Color master frames were coregistered in Astroart with some low pass filtering. Luminance and Color FITS were combined in Photoshop with some Luminance Layering. The Snowball itself was de-saturated with the 4 and 12 sec exposures. Star field depth comes from the 40 sec exposure. Final touches in Photoshop.

This image is one of my few DSO's at f/10. It replaces an earlier version of this object I had posted on this site. The depth on the faintest stars goes to about Mag 18.5. Horizontal FOV is 8'
