NGC 7793 in Sculptor

Scope: C8  f/10, Location: Laguna Mountains, CA   4 September 2005  Camera: Artemis285

Exposure: 10 x 120 sec (2x2bin) Luminance exposures with IR block, 7 x 72 sec (4x4bin) RGB exposures.

Processing: Images were captured Artemis Capture (as FITs). Aligned/stacked in Registax 3 and saved as FITS. Luminance and Color channels were scaled and rough color balanced in Astroart.  Channels were co-registered in Astroart . Final LRGB combine was done in Photoshop using Luminance Layering (or LLRGB). The heavy stretch bloated some of the stars so slight star repair was applied. Selective sharpening with layer mask was applied to galaxy dust lanes. Photoshop was also used to subtract background noise from the luminance channel. Color balancing and final touches were done in Photoshop. SGBNR was used to smooth remaining background noise on the luminance channel and final result. Final Image size is approximately 800x596.

North is up in this image. The image was guided for all exposures. NGC 7793 is an attractive galaxy located in the constellation of Sculptor. Horizontal FOV is 15'

Image center is approximately - Equatorial 2000: RA: 23h 57m 49s Dec: -32°35'30"
