Image size is approximately 4127x2806. North is up in this image. This
image encompasses the galaxy group HDC 952 It consists of members NGC 6173,
6175, 6180, and LEDA 140634. There are many other galaxies in this field -
notable are NGC 6184 and NGC 6174. However, the location of NGC 6174 is
uncertain given differences in catalogs and databases for this object .
Many of the galaxies in this image are also members of the very expansive Abell
2199 galaxy cluster whose center is about 1.3 degrees south of this field.
Many of the background galaxies fall into the range of 300 to 500 million light years distant. There
are visible Quasars in the image - the largest redshift is 2.332 with a lookback of
10.87 billion light
years. These objects,
information, and some of the brighter stars are identified in the annotated
image. The annotation shows the two possible
locations NGC 6174. Horizontal FOV is approximately 39 arc minutes. Full size
image scale is approximately 0.57 arcsec/pix.. Image center is approximately - Equatorial 2000: RA: 16h 29m 58s Dec: +40°44'51"
