Collection - Sequence Generator Pro (as FITs). Subframe calibration
- Pixinsight. Subframe integration (Average combine - Winsorized Sigma
Clipping) - PixInsight. MureDenoise on each LRGB integration - PixInsight.
Non-linear stretching and normalization - PixInsight.
Curves, Levels, RGB combine, Luminance
layering - PixInsight. Luminance construction was a weighted average of L,
R, G, B integrated stacks. Final finishing - Photoshop. RGB
color calibration
- PixInsight. Annotation - PixInsight, Aladin (Simbad and NED), and PhotoShop. This image is a RGB combine with
Luminance layering. Images processed at resolution 3354x2529. Final
Image size is approximately 3347x2510. North is up in this image. This
image shows NGC 4214, NGC 4163, and NGC 4190 galaxies - all of which are
classified as irregular galaxies. NGC 4214 and NGC 4163 have duplicate NGC
identifications (NGC 4228, and NGC4 167 respectively). Just below and right of
NGC 4214 (the large galaxy) is a small dim irregular PGC 39145. All of
these galaxies are in the same distance neighborhood of 8.5 to 14 million light
years. Other background galaxies in this image are further distant. Further
still are many Quasars in this field, the four brightest (see annotated image) range
in redshift from 0.5 to 1.9. These objects
and some of the brighter stars are identified in the annotated
image. The
full size image has an image scale of approximately 1.57 arcsec/pix.
Horizontal FOV is approximately 88 arc minutes. Image center is approximately - Equatorial 2000: RA: 12h 13m 42s Dec: +36° 25' 46"
