Collection - Sequence Generator Pro (as FITs). Subframe calibration
- Pixinsight. Subframe integration (Median combine - Winsorized Sigma
Clipping) - PixInsight. Non-linear stretching and normalization - PixInsight. Generation of starless
and "stars only" Luminance images
for later processing - starnet++. Curves, Levels, RGB combine, Luminance
layering - PixInsight. Luminance Stars and Starless combine - PixInsight. Final finishing - Photoshop. RGB calibration
- eXcalibrator. Annotation - PixInsight, Aladin (Simbad and NED), and PhotoShop. This image is a RGB combine with
Luminance layering. The Luminance master was processed with starnet++ for
both galactic structure (surface brightness) and stars only image. Images processed at 3352 x 2532 resolution. Final
Image size is approximately 3352x2514. North is up in this image. This
image shows the Galactic cluster Abell 347 (ACO 347) region. The above
image shows the core of the galactic cluster. It includes galaxies NGC
898, 906,909,910, 911, 912, 913, 914. The cluster members are between 218 and
274 million light years distant. The full size image has a broader field
of view that includes Arp 145 and the well known NGC 891 galaxies. NGC 891 is
not an Abell 347 cluster member; it is a foregrond galaxy and is about 32
million light years distant These objects
and some of the brighter stars are identified in the annotated
image. Horizontal FOV is approximately 120 arc minutes. Full size
image scale is 2.15 arcsec/pix. Image center is approximately - Equatorial 2000: RA: 02h 19m 11s Dec: +42°59'48"
